Product Overview

The O-ring is used to prevent leakage of vapors from Breathing Circuit Gas (BCG) in an anesthesia delivery machine. The O-ring mounted on vaporizer ports ensures consistent gas flow through the breathing circuit. In case of a leak in the vaporizer, the anesthesia delivery machine can function normally if the vaporizer remains switched off. But on switching on the vaporizer, the fresh gas flow is reduced with little or no vapor. A common cause of vapor leakage is the absence of O-ring or a damaged O-ring. The O-ring provides sealing to the vapors in BCG thus avoiding ambient gases mixing with vapors. It is made of silicone rubber which is an excellent seal for high temperatures in static applications. Silicone compounds are widely used in medical applications because they are very clean and odorless or tasteless. It has a good insulating properties.

Additional Features:
  • Easy to clean
  • Good tensile strength and elongation
  • Non-reactive and stable
  • Outstanding flex and fatigue life
  • Relatively low cost and highly reliable
  • Features
    • Resistant to extreme temperatures
    • Item used in various anesthesia systems
    • Withstands extreme weather conditions
    • Minimal lubrication with Krytox is sufficient
    • High Temperature Usage: Up to 480° F
    • O-rings are used to eliminate gas leaks
    • O-rings are seated in a groove and compacted between two or more parts, thus creating a seal at the interface
    • They are used as washers in medical equipment
    • It acts as an excellent leak barrier for medical equipment
    • These O-Rings are composed of flexible rubber material
